Chicago Latino Film Festival 2017 Brand Concept. Inspired by Latin American art and shapes seen in local Chicago Hispanic community murals, this poster/logo brings together elements of Chicago and the Latin community. The logo, a film reel, resembles a creature sticking out a tongue. In the center, the countries represented by the 2017 film festival are shown. The iconic CTA train cart circles around the film reel while some of Chicago's iconic skyscrapers radiate from the center creating a sun-like form. A final touch with the text "unidos somos, juntos estamos" which can be read in both Portuguese and Spanish brings together the Latin American community, as to say "we are united".
